On Thursday night, Duke freshman guard/forward Brandon Ingram was chosen second overall in the 2016 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers. Ingram joined Jahlil Okafor (2015) and Jabari Parker (2014) as Dukies tabbed in the top three of the last three drafts.
With Ingram’s selection, Duke became the first team since UCLA in 1975-77 to have a player picked in the top-three in three straight drafts. The Blue Devils put out a short video tonight celebrating this accomplishment.
With Harry Giles and Jayson Tatum in the fold next year as projected one-and-dones and lottery picks, we’re betting the streak continues.
