Zion Williamson was pretty honest while speaking to reporters after Duke's narrow escape against Virginia Tech in the Sweet 16 on Friday night.
The Blue Devils, who barely got past UCF in the second round thanks to a last-second shot that rimmed out, had a similar finish against the Hokies.
Virginia Tech had a game-tying point-blank shot at the rim as the clock was expiring, but it somehow missed.
Duke escaped with a 75-73 win to move onto the Elite Eight.
Williamson, who was caught flatfooted as the Hokies attempted the game-tying shot, thought the game was heading to overtime.
"I'm not even going to lie to you, when he caught it, I said, 'Ah, we're about to go to overtime,'" Williamson told reporters. "I mean, I don't know what happened."
What happened was the shot hit off the left side of the rim before falling to the floor. Duke escaped with one of the craziest wins of the NCAA Tournament.
Duke is set to play Michigan State on Sunday with a spot in the Final Four on the line. The game is set to tip off at 5:05 p.m. E.T. on CBS.
