On Wednesday night, Duke superstar Zion Williamson suffered a knee sprain in the first minute of the team's rivalry game against North Carolina. The injury occurred in a bizarre moment in which his Nike sneaker exploded.

The injury has sparked significant conversation about Williamson's future at Duke, and with Nike as a prospective endorsement. In the immediate future, there is a concern about how long he'll be out for the Blue Devils.

Even with the loss to UNC, Duke should be in-line for a No. 1 seed. That could come into question if the team looks as hapless without Zion as it did against the Tar Heels in the 88-72 home loss.

They won't have him for this weekend's big game on Saturday.

According to a report, Zion Williamson will miss Duke's rematch against Syracuse at the Carrier Dome on Saturday.

From Stadium's Jeff Goodman:

Williamson played in the team's first game against the Orange, a dramatic overtime loss earlier in the season.

In that game, the Blue Devils lost star point guard Tre Jones early on, after he helped Duke jump out to a big lead with his smothering defense. Cam Reddish also missed that game.

The team went cold, and Syracuse had its best offensive performance to date in the upset.

Williamson had a career high 35 points along with 10 rebounds in the first game against the Orange.
