Five-star shooting guard Anthony Edwards continues to progress in his recruitment.

Edwards, a 2020 prospect, is the No. 1 shooting guard in the class.

247Sports ranks him No. 4 overall, and first in talent-rich Georgia.

In December, Edwards announced his top five schools.

National powers Kansas, Kentucky, and North Carolina are involved as is home-state SEC program Georgia, and Florida State, one of the first programs to get seriously involved in his recruitment.

Earlier this week, SB Nation published a profile on the blue-chip player known as "Ant-Man," and hinted at some of the factors that will play into his decision.

"He says he’s looking for a school that isn’t too far from home, and one where he has a close relationship with the coach."

Florida State is viewed as the favorite, but Anthony Edwards still wants to check out a few of the other powers on his list.

He'll have that chance very soon, with trips to Kansas and Kentucky in the coming weeks.

From 247Sports:

Edwards, who opted to reclassify from 2020 to 2019 on Nov. 20, will visit Kentucky officially on Monday, Jan. 21 and then will take an official visit Kansas on Feb. 9.

To go with Kentucky and Kansas, Edwards list of five finalists also include Georgia, Florida State and North Carolina. The only other official visit Edwards has taken was to Georgia on Dec. 1.

One assumes that Florida State and UNC will contend for his final two official visits sometime late this basketball season.

As of this writing, eight of 10 247 Crystal Ball predictions have him heading to Florida State.
