Dabo Swinney Explains Why Clemson Didn't Land Dalvin Cook

No. 17 Florida State and No. 3 Clemson are set to square off on Saturday with the winner likely locking up the ACC Atlantic Division title. Clemson will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak against the 'Noles.

One of the keys to stopping Florida State is shutting down sophomore running back Dalvin Cook. Yesterday, Tigers defensive end Shaq Lawson said that Cook, a one-time Clemson commit, will be wishing he went there by the end of the game.

Today, Tigers head coach Dabo Swinney was asked about "almost signing" Cook. In reality, Cook was committed to Clemson from June 2012 (after his sophomore year of high school) until April 2013 when he was a junior, so his time as a Tiger pledge was short.

Dabo, as is his custom, provided a memorable quote likening Clemson's dalliance with Cook to actual dating.

Okay then. Dabo is always an interesting interview.
