In a strange twist in the Deondre Francois’ story that led to his dismissal from the FSU football team, Francois’ ex-girlfriend is apparently recanting the allegation that he hit her.
Diamond Lindsey, who published a video on Instagram over the weekend depicting a domestic dispute with Francois, published a new post where she apologized to Francois and regretted posting the video in the first place.
Francois was dismissed from the FSU program yesterday.
I want to first start by apologizing to Deondre and his family for ultimately diminishing his character. I should have never posted a video from our past situations that were already handled. The motive of the video was to scare him not to ruin anything he had going for hisself.
Lindsey goes on to explain that the video was made to threaten him, and took responsibility for the seemingly-violent sounds in the video.
She stated that she did not call the police and further apologized for misleading people.

Despite the apology, it is unlikely that Lindsey’s statement will give FSU any cause to reconsider Francois’ status. The video does appear to indicate some form of abuse coming from Francois, even if there is no visual evidence to reinforce what he was apparently saying.
Since his dismissal from the football team, Francois has reportedly entered the NCAA transfer portal.
