The first game of the post-Willie Taggart era of Florida State football takes place this weekend, as the ‘Noles head to Alumni Stadium to take on the Boston College Eagles.
Florida State will be playing out the final games of the season with longtime assistant Odell Haggins at the helm. At 4-5 on the season, they need two more wins to avoid missing a bowl game for the second straight season. Beating Boston College would be a pretty good way to restore the team’s confidence with Alabama State and Florida still to come.
Boston College, meanwhile, has had a solid but unremarkable season under Steve Addazio. The Eagles are 5-4 and only one game away from being bowl eligible for the sixth time in seven years. But with tough road games against Notre Dame and Pitt coming up, the Eagles will want to get that sixth win this week.
Both teams are just about evenly matched on all fronts, so it makes sense that the bettors are giving Boston College a slight edge as the home team in this one.

Florida State has historically dominated Boston College. But the last time these two teams played at Alumni Stadium, the Eagles ran away with the win over the Seminoles.
We’ll have to see if Boston College can make history repeat itself against the struggling Noles this week.
