Florida State Football: Report: Former FSU QB John Franklin III Will Transfer To Community College

In the wake of the Jameis Winston era, Florida State is flush with contenders for the quarterback position. Most notably, former Notre Dame star Everett Golson has transferred to FSU for his final collegiate season. The 'Noles will be without one signal caller for the upcoming season, however. John Franklin III, who was a redshirt freshman this past season, will transfer to East Mississippi Community College for the upcoming season, according to a report by FOX Sports' Bruce Feldman.

John Franklin III, a former FSU QB, will transfer to East Miss. CC, a source told FOX Sports Wednesday morning. The speedy 6-0, 185-pound redshirt sophomore from South Florida will play for new EMCC QB coach Clint Trickett, a former Nole quarterback who later was the starter for West Virginia.

Franklin has retweetedtwo stories about the move, which seems to verify his destination.

Franklin, who is also an All-ACC Track and Field performer, was a three-star player out of South Plantation High School, with an offer from Tennessee, as well as a number of small conference schools like FIU, Navy, and Temple. It will be interesting to see where he ends up after his stop at EMCC.
