With the college football season in full swing, there are several conference games on the schedule for this weekend. One of those contests is between Florida State and Virginia.
Florida State nearly suffered a loss to Louisiana-Monroe in Week 2, but Willie Taggart’s squad managed to pull through in overtime. However, the sting of losing the season opener against Boise State isn’t gone just yet.
The Seminoles will have their opportunity to redeem themselves on Saturday when they face the Cavaliers. It’s a chance for the program to pick up a victory over a ranked opponent early in the season.
Virginia has looked impressive on both sides of the football in its wins over Pitt and William & Mary.
Here are the details for this game:
Game Time: 7:30 PM ET
Channel: ACC Network
Spread: Virginia -7.5
Announcers: Dave O’Brien, Tim Hasselbeck
James Blackman and Cam Akers have been quite productive for Florida State through the first two games. They’ll have their hands full against a Virginia’s defense that allows only 228 total yards per game.
Another factor in this game will be how quarterback Bryce Perkins performs for the Cavaliers. His ability to beat defenses through the air or on the ground is something that could give the Seminoles trouble.
Virginia has a 65.6 percent chance of defeating Florida State, per ESPN’s FPI.
The home crowd at Scott Stadium should be electric for this ACC clash.
