While there has been no official announcement yet from Florida State, it appears that quarterback Jameis Winston has been cleared of any wrongdoing in his student code of conduct case relating to the alleged sexual assault of a female student back in 2012. Sunday afternoon, Winston's lawyer, David Cornwell, tweeted out a direct quote from the ruling of the hearing. It's been confirmed by numerous media reports that Winston will not be punished by the university.
The ruling does not mean that the alleged victim cannot file a civil lawsuit relating to the case.
The decision will allow for Winston to be available for the team's Rose Bowl game against Oregon on New Year's Day.
