Report: Florida State Has Extended Leonard Hamilton Through 2020

Longtime Florida State head basketball coach Leonard Hamilton will be sticking around in Tallahassee through the end of the decade.

Coming off of a 26-9 season and second place finish in the ACC, Hamilton has reportedly received an extension through 2020, according to ESPN's Jeff Goodman.

The extension comes after the winningest season of Hamilton's 29 years as head coach. Florida State disappointed in March as a No. 3 seed, however, getting blown out in the Round of 32 by No. 11 Xavier 91-66, despite having a roster stocked with NBA talent. Hamilton's teams have not been great in the NCAA Tournament overall, only reaching the Sweet 16 two times in 29 years: 1999-2000 Miami, and 2010-11 Florida State.

Overall, Hamilton is 504-406 in his head coaching career, which began at Oklahoma State before 10 years at Miami. He has been at Florida State since 2002, and is 304-196 with the Seminoles, with five NCAA Tournament berths.

We'll update as more is announced about Hamilton's new contract.
