The No. 2 overall recruit in the country is set to make his decision on where he’ll be playing basketball next year.
According to 247Sports, five-star shooting guard Anthony Edwards from Holy Spirit Preparatory School will make his final announcement tomorrow morning. The elite prospect will be announcing his decision at 9:00 a.m. E.T. on CBS Sports HQ.
The top contenders for Edwards’ services are expected to be Florida State, Georgia, and Kentucky.
Edwards is considered the No. 2 overall recruit per the 247Sports Composite ranking.
He trails only Memphis center James Wiseman on the recruiting chart, but is still the top-rated shooting guard and the No. 1 overall prospect from the state of Georgia.
We may have gotten a clue recently as to where Edwards is narrowing down his choices to. He recently cancelled an official visit to Florida State.
Meanwhile, Edwards has already made his official visits to Georgia and Kentucky on December 1, 2018 and January 21, 2019 respectively.
247Sports’ Crystal Ball Predictions give Edwards an 86-percent chance of going to Georgia, and a 14-percent chance of going to FSU.
Edwards would certainly be a huge get for the Bulldogs, as they have not had a five-star enrollee in several years.
Whoever does end up getting Edwards is going to be getting a very talented player. As a senior at Holy Spirit, Edwards has been averaging 26.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.
