3-Star DE Patrick Joyner Jr. Announces Commitment To Florida State

3-star defensive end Patrick Joyner Jr. took to Twitter on Friday afternoon to announce his commitment to Florida State.

Florid State just added another defensive piece to its 2018 recruiting class.

3-star defensive end Patrick Joyner Jr. announced his commitment to the Florida State Seminoles earlier today with a post on Twitter. He thanked his family, friends and coaches and posted a picture of himself with head coach Jimbo Fisher.

Joyner, a Florida native, had competing scholarship offers from several other Division I schools, including Syracuse, UCF, Indiana, Maryland and Illinois, among some others, but ultimately he decided Florida State is where he'll continue his football career.

According to 247Sports, Jimbo Fisher played the biggest role in his decision to join the program, and Joyner added that FSU is an "awesome program" and "I feel like I fit in perfectly."

With Joyner's commitment, the Seminoles boast the No. 5 ranked recruiting class in the country for 2018, and the No. 2 class in the ACC, per 247Sports. The class currently consists of eight commits.

The 6-foot-3, 209-pound defensive end is planning on visiting the campus again on Monday, April 10.

Joyner is the No. 46 ranked weak-side defensive end in the nation, per 247Sports.
