Report: Jameis Winston's Lawyer Says Accuser Tried To "Extort" FSU QB For $7 Million

You probably won't find this hard to believe, but Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston is back in the news. Wednesday, TMZ has reported that Winston's lawyer, David Cornwell, claims that his client's accuser in the alleged sexual assault from December 2012 demanded $7 million this past February to settle the case. Cornwell called the move an attempt at "extortion" and says he rejected the offer. Here's a little more on the situation, via TMZ:

Cornwell also says Carroll claimed her client's sexual encounter had to be rape, because she would never sleep with a "black boy." Fact is ... the alleged victim's boyfriend at the time was black. The criminal case fell apart, partly because the alleged victim had semen from 2 different men on her shorts.

Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher claims to have not known about the $7 million offer for settlement.

Winston was never charged with any crime related to the accusations, but the school is still conducting a Title IX investigation into the matter.
