Report: Jimbo Fisher Did Not Promise Everett Golson Starting Job

It's official - former Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson is transferring to Florida State. But that doesn't necessarily mean he's already won the starting job. In fact, as ESPN's Brett McMurphy reports, Seminoles head coach Jimbo Fisher made sure to communicate to his newest signal-caller that he is not guaranteed the starting gig before summer camp starts. He'll have to earn it.

Before Golson made his decision, it was assumed that junior Sean Maguire, who backed up Jameis Winston last year, would be the starter. FSU also has a number of young, promising quarterbacks waiting in the wings.

It should be an entertaining few months in Tallahassee.
