This Tweet From A Florida State Fan May Have Led To Jaiden Woodbey Committing To The Seminoles

A tweet that may have helped sway Jaiden Woodbey to Florida State.

A tweet from a Florida State fan may have landed the Seminoles a top prospect.

They tell you, the fan, not to tweet at recruits. Perhaps that isn't always the case. Wednesday night, five-star defensive back Jaiden Woodbey, who had been committed to Ohio State since February 2017, officially announced his decision - flipping to Florida State.

Woodbey hadn't even been offered by Florida State until 10 days ago.

Thursday, Tomahawk Nation posted an interesting story about Woodbey's recruitment. It turns out that back on December 11, he tweeted about of eventually becoming a Jim Thorpe award winner. When a Florida State fan suggested he do it for the Seminoles, Woodbey noted that he hadn't even been offered by them.

In the tweet, Woodbey tagged Florida State. A few hours later, he had an offer. Eight days after that, he became a Seminole. Pretty nuts.

No, we don't think all college football fans should start tweeting at recruits incessantly, hoping to sway their decisions. But in this one instance, it does appear to have had a positive outcome - at least for Florida State.
