One of the top athletes in the 2021 recruiting class has taken a step forward in his recruitment. Kamar Wilcoxson, a four-star player listed as an “athlete,” has whittled down his list of schools a bit.
Wilcoxson is ranked No. 221 overall in the class by 247Sports‘ composite ranking system.
The site has him at No. 18 in both the state of Georgia, and among athletes. Rivals designates him as a cornerback, but it sounds like the different schools recruiting the Stephenson High School star see him filling various roles.
At 6-foot-2, 190 pounds, he has the frame to match-up with bigger receivers, which is very valuable at the cornerback spot.
Kamar Wilcoxson announced his top 10 schools on Thursday afternoon.
He has 23 scholarship offers listed, and that list obviously has room to grow, as he is only entering his junior season.
Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia Tech, LSU, Maryland, Ohio State, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas A&M all made this cut.

The two early 247 crystal ball predictions for Wilcoxson both have him staying close to home, and committing to Georgia Tech. Given some of the programs on his list, like Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio State, that would be a major recruiting win for the Yellow Jackets.
New head coach Geoff Collins has recruited quite well since he took over after a successful tenure at Temple. You can’t count anyone out this early.
