Desmond Howard and guest picker Bruce Smith both took Virginia Tech to pull the big upset today, but Lee Corso wasn't about it.
The Hokies hosted this morning's episode of College GameDay ahead of a huge battle with defending national champion Clemson, and they've been a trendy upset pick this week.
Virginia Tech has looked very strong, running out to a 4-0 start to the season. Blacksburg is also one of the country's toughest home environments.
After Howard and Virginia Tech legend Smith made their pick, Kirk Herbstreit brought out a Hokie mascot head, and Corso told the story about the time that lightning struck his rental car while he called a game at Tech. It led to his famous quote "I don't know what a Hokie is, but God is one of them."
However, just when VT fans thought the GameDay crew was going 3-for-3 in picking the home underdog, Corso pulled out the Tiger head.
Virginia Tech doesn't love the pick.
Clemson at Virginia Tech kicks off at 8:00 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ABC. The Tigers are 7.5-point road favorites.
