Bobby Petrino has a reputation as a great football coach, but one who will leave at the first sign of adversity, or a better opportunity. Even with his most recent hire at Louisville, Petrino left his last job at Western Kentucky after just one year. Petrino insists that U of L will be his last stop, and today he made a number of announcements that seem to indicate that he is sincere about that. During a press conference at Kosair Children's Hospital, Petrino discussed the establishment of the new Petrino Family Trauma Unit, as well as a number of other contributions to the Louisville community. :
University of Louisville football head coach Bobby Petrino and his family introduced the Petrino Family Foundation at a press conference held at Kosair Children's Hospital on Thursday.
The Petrino's have made multiple donations to Kosairs that continued despite working elsewhere. The foundation increased that relationship with the announcement of a sizable donation to the hospital's trauma unit.
Foundation Director Kelsey Petrino announced a gift of $1 million to the hospital which, among others, help create the new Petrino Family Trauma Unit.
In addition to these gifts, Petrino will donate two Louisville scholarship to underpriviledged students, and is buying the Cardinals Marching Band new uniforms.
With all of these moves, Petrino certainly seems to be laying the roots that indicate that he won't be moving on from Louisville any time soon.
