Defensive End Devonte Fields Has Been Cleared To Play At Louisville

The Louisville defense just got better.

Former TCU defensive end - and 2012 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year - Devonte Fields has been cleared by Louisville's admissions department and will play football at UL. As a freshman at TCU in 2012, Fields finished the season with 10 sacks and 18.5 tackles for loss.

Fields was "separated" from TCU in 2014 after he allegedly punched and threatened his ex-girlfriend, and spent the year playing football at Trinity Valley Community College.

And even though recent headlines in college football regarding violence towards women have sent teams running away from players with this kind of history, it appears the Cardinals weren't the only ones interested in adding the 6-foot-4, 250-pound defensive end

The Cardinals know what they're getting on the field, but they'll likely still have to answer questions regarding the decision.
