Kentucky earned its biggest victory of the season last weekend, defeating North Carolina in the CBS Sports Classic. While the Wildcats proved they can compete with other elite programs, they’ll have to prepare for another challenge this Saturday.
One of the most passionate rivalries in college hoops will be on display, as Kentucky faces Louisville on the road.
Although the Cardinals aren’t currently ranked, they own a 9-3 record that only includes losses to programs in the top 25. Chris Mack has already proven himself as a worthy head coach for the Cardinals, especially after leading the team to a stunning victory over Michigan State in November.
The Wildcats are starting to gain an identity on offense with Keldon Johnson and Reid Travis becoming their primary scorers.
There is no doubt that Kentucky has the better roster from top to bottom, but home-court advantage is pivotal in this matchup. With Cardinals fans ready to rock this weekend, Louisville could add another signature win to its resume.
Despite both programs having a long line of history, it appears John Calipari has tipped the scale in Kentucky’s favor.
However, Louisville is undefeated at home this season and will look to get revenge for last year’s blowout loss.
The rivalry is renewed tomorrow. A few #FridayFacts before the showdown:

It should be the top game of the weekend for college hoops, as the Cardinals and the Wildcats had a full week to prepare.
Tipoff is set for 2:00 p.m. ET from the KFC Yum! Center.
The game will be on ESPN2 with Dan Shulman, Jay Bilas and Dan Dakich on the call.
