Louisville was against the ropes against Virginia, then Lamar Jackson did Lamar Jackson things.
Louisville trailed Virginia 25-24 with 1:57 remaining in regulation and things certainly didn't look great for the Cardinals, but Lamar Jackson put the team on his back and found a way to get out of Charlottesville with a win.
Louisville faced a 4th-and-3 with 55 seconds left sitting at midfield. The Cardinals had to convert and they did just that thanks to this great throw from Jackson that was actually deflected at the line of scrimmage:
After picking up 16 yards over the next two plays with his feet, Jackson showed off his arm yet again as he put a pass right on the money for Jaylen Smith to give the Cardinals the lead:
The touchdown came with just 13 seconds left on the clock. Virginia had a shot at the end for a Hail Mary miracle, but James Hearns sacked quarterback Kurt Benkert to end the contest.
Jackson ended the game with 361 passing yards, four throwing touchdowns and another 90 yards rushing. Yet another great day for one of the Heisman Trophy frontrunners.
Louisville improved to 7-1 on the year with the win.
