The East Region of the 2019 NCAA Tournament has been unveiled. The overall 1-seed is the Duke Blue Devils. Let’s take a look at one of the matchups on the lower half of the region – No. 7 Louisville vs. No. 10 Minnesota.
Preview: Louisville has reached the Big Dance under first-year head coach Chris Mack, and they are probably happy to get to the postseason after a late slump. The Cardinals (20-13) have lost five of their last seven games, including an 83-70 loss to North Carolina in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals .
Minnesota returns to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2017. The Golden Gophers finished with an overall mark of 21-13 with a 9-11 record in the Big Ten. Minnesota scored big wins over Washington, Wisconsin, Iowa and Purdue twice. The team is led by the dynamic duo of Amir Coffey and Jordan Murphy.
The Game Behind The Game: Minnesota, coached by Richard Pitino, will face Louisville. Pitino’s father Rick is suing Louisville for $44 million.

Prediction: Amazingly, this is a matchup between Richard Pitino and the school that fired his father. Both teams struggled with consistency this year, but each is capable of making a run. Louisville struggled down the stretch, but we’re going to take the Cardinals to knock off the Golden Gophers. Expect Jordan Nwora to go off.
