Louisville sent a message to the rest of the country last night with its win over Michigan in the annual ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Following the victory, Jordan Nwora threw shade at his opponent.
Nwora thought about entering his name in the 2019 NBA Draft, but he decided to return for another season. He’s averaging 21.9 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
Before the game took place on Tuesday night, the Wolverines made it known they were ready for the challenge. After winning the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament, Michigan wanted to take down the No. 1 team in the country.
Michigan certainly had momentum entering this match-up, but Louisville proved why its the top ranked program in college hoops.
During his post-game media session, Nwora fired back at the Michigan players that reportedly wanted “all the smoke.”
“I was feeling good. We had heard they wanted some smoke yesterday, so they got some smoke. And they got smoked,” Nwora said. “They were talking and we were able to quiet it up.”
Here’s the full response from Nwora:

It would be great if Louisville and Michigan met again in the NCAA Tournament. Both programs are on track to have strong seasons, so it’s certainly possible a rematch happens down the road.
The Wolverines might want to use Nwora’s recent comments as motivation, but the Cardinals showed last night they’re always ready for a marquee showdown.
