One Louisville player apparently thought Tracy Wolfson of CBS Sports was trying to steal plays during a timeout.
Louisville casually destroyed Jacksonville St. today in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, 78-63. It was a breezy victory for a program that’s all too familiar with lighting it up on the big stage. But while the program itself may be familiar with the tourney, this current squad in particular is young and doesn’t have quite the experience of past Louisville teams. And that lack of experience was made very clear today during the game, albeit in a pretty hilarious way.
Check it out:
Pitino “To show you how inexperienced we are, we had a player say ‘There’s a lady in our huddle stealing our plays.’ It was @tracywolfson."

Man, that’s great. It’s such an honest mistake too. Whoever the player was was probably just so focused on the game that he didn’t want anyone to compromise Louisville’s chances of getting the win. At the same time, though, Tracy Wolfson has been in the sports broadcasting game a long time—how did he not recognize her?
At any rate, it’s a pretty funny anecdote, and a reminder that most of the players taking the court are just 18 and 19-year-old kids. I guarantee whoever said it got clowned pretty hard by their teammates on the bus ride back to the hotel.
