Rick Pitino has filed a federal lawsuit against Adidas.
Just one day after being officially fired by Louisville, former head coach Rick Pitino is now suing Adidas for “outrageous conduct in conspiring to funnel money to the family of a basketball recruit.”
Adidas terminated its relationship with Pitino on Monday after he was fired by the university.
Here’s some of the language of the federal lawsuit:

It’s the first of what could be several lawsuits by Pitino, and one against Louisville will likely be coming soon. The school attempted to offer Pitino a settlement at the time of his firing, but former head coach rejected it, as he believes he’s still owed the $40 million remaining on his contract.
We’ll have more information as the story develops.
