Long before Rick Pitino guided the Louisville Cardinals to their most recent national title, he coached their biggest rival, Kentucky, leading the Wildcats to a championship in 1996. Pitino left UK on bad terms, ditching the school for another shot at the NBA with the Boston Celtics. Pitino further became the ire of Kentucky fans when he accepted the Louisville job in 2001. But apparently the school is letting bygones by bygones ahead of Pitino's Hall of Fame enshrinement.
UK took out an ad in the Hall of Fame Enshrinement program to congratulate its former coach - signed from the Big Blue Nation. WDRB's Eric Crawford tweeted out a photo:
Kentucky fans - is supporting Pitino okay? Or should the school have stayed away from something like this?
