Rick Pitino is playing in a 55-and-over men's basketball league this summer, and he showed off his three-point shot in his debut.
The game, which Pitino says is his first organized game as a player in 16 years, took place in South Florida, and NBC6's Chris Fischer made sure he was on hand to see Pitino ball. The crafty 64-year old guard didn't disappoint, draining a trio of three-pointers, making up all nine of his points, and showing some hustle on defense, even diving for a loose ball at one point.
Fischer grabbed some video of the game, though we unfortunately don't get to see Pitino hitting the deck.
Former Cards Peyton Siva and Russ Smith had some priceless tweets after seeing their former coach back on the court.
Unfortunately for Pitino's Red Birds, the team dropped its first game of the tournament, which runs through May 12, 68-52.
We really hope Pitino breaks out his famous press next game.
