This is a big get for the Scarlet Knights.
Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy four-star quarterback Artur Sitkowski has flipped his commitment from Miami (Fla.) to Rutgers.
Sitkowski, the No. 11 quarterback in the 2018 class, announced the news on Twitter. He originally committed to the Hurricanes in February.
While this may seem like a strange move on paper--Miami is undefeated and ranked in the top 10, Rutgers is showing progress under Chris Ash but is only 3-5 on the season--there is logic behind it.
Before transferring to IMG, Sitkowski grew up in Old Bridge, N.J., a short distance from RU. He played the first three seasons of his high school career at Old Bridge, and was a priority recruit for Rutgers before he picked Miami.
Rutgers had an opening for a second quarterback in its 2018 class after three-star Sean Chambers decommitted last month. Sitkowski joins three-star Jalen Chatman as committed signal callers for the Scarlet Knights.
As for Miami, the Hurricanes don't have a quarterback for 2018 anymore. Expect them to pursue some of the top uncommitted prospects out there or attempt to flip a player committed elsewhere.
