4-Star DE Derick Hunter Jr. Commits To Miami

Derick Hunter Jr., a four-star defensive end in the class of 2019, announced his commitment to Miami via Twitter this afternoon.

Hunter, who stars at Dunbar High School in Fort Myers, Florida, made his early commitment official earlier this hour.

Hunter chose Miami over offers from Florida, Florida State, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oregon, South Carolina, Syracuse, UCLA, and numerous others.

247Sports has Hunter ranked the No. 167 player in the class of 2019. The site has him listed as the No. 13 strong-side defensive end, and the No. 25 recruit in the state of Florida.

247's crystal ball has Miami with an 86-percent chance to land Hunter, with seven predictions in. Florida has the remaining vote. As of now, things are looking good for that prediction, but we're a very long way out from National Signing Day 2019.

Hunter is the highest-ranked player in 2019 to commit to Miami. He joins three stars Brieon Fuller (WR), Diamante Howard (OLB), and Jesiah Pierre (OLB). The class is ranked No. 6 in the country, though again, we're extremely early in this cycle.
