Tate Martell transferred from Ohio State to Miami to play quarterback, though the former elite recruit was unable to win the starting job.
The Hurricanes named Jarren Williams the starting quarterback for 2019. Martell was competing for the backup job with N’Kosi Perry.
Williams has had a disastrous start to today’s game against Virginia Tech. He’s thrown three interceptions in three drives.
Miami is making a change at quarterback, though it’s Perry – not Martell – coming in for Williams.
Fans are calling for the former Ohio State quarterback to play.

Jarren Williams has three interceptions in the first quarter. Please tell me Tate Martell would be worse.

Idc what anyone says, it needs to be Tate Martell time in Miami

There’s no possible way Tate Martell can be worse then this starting QB for Miami

Martell has been playing a little wide receiver for Miami since losing the starting quarterback battle, so maybe the Hurricanes haven’t gotten him enough work to play QB today.
Still, it’s disappointing for the former elite dual-threat quarterback recruit to get no playing time under center.
Miami is trailing Virginia Tech, 21-0. The game is on ESPN.
