Former Miami Player Says Butch Davis, Mario Cristobal Lead For Head Coaching Vacancy

Former Miami offensive lineman Joaquin Gonzalez, a member of the 'Canes 2001 BCS National Championship team, played for the program during one of its greatest eras.. Therefore, it is no surprise that the search committee for the Miami head coaching vacancy elected to speak with Gonzalez today about the ongoing search process and gauge his thoughts on what the U needs in its next leader.

According to Gonzalez, two men with prominent Miami ties have been the most suggested candidates for the position: former Hurricanes head coach Butch Davis and ex-offensive lineman and assistant Mario Cristobal.
