Former Miami quarterback Brad Kaaya did not make the Detroit Lions' roster.
Former Miami quarterback Brad Kaaya, who was taken in the sixth round of this past year's NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions, did not make the team's roster heading into the season.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the news. Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network says the Lions will likely sign him to the practice squad if he clears waivers.
It's disappointing news for Kaaya, who was once considered one of the best signal-caller prospects in his class.
Kaaya finished his final preseason game - against the Buffalo Bills - 12-of-20 for 182 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. We'll see if he gets another shot during the season.
