A former Hurricane passed away.
The New England Patriots released a statement on the death of former first round draft pick Laster Williams.
Williams reportedly died at his home in Birmingham, Ala.
New England drafted Williams with the No. 27 pick in the 1982 draft after a tremendous career at the University of Miami.

The New England Patriots are deeply saddened to learn of the loss of former New England Patriots nose tackle Lester Williams, who died at his home in Birmingham, Ala., on Aug. 16, 2017 at the age of 58.
Williams earned All-America honors after his 1981 season with the Hurricanes. In 1999, he was inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame, and his 210 career tackles remain the most in school history for a defensive tackle.
