Miami Athletic Director Releases Statement On Hurricane Irma

It's unclear how Hurricane Irma will affect Miami football as of yet.

Miami athletic director Blake James released a statement earlier today on how Miami football will be affected by Hurricane Irma, and as of now, things are still up in the air.

"We are monitoring Hurricane Irma," Blake said in an official statement, "and right now it is too early to make any determination in regards to our scheduled events this week."

You can check out the full statement below:

It's unlikely Miami's Saturday matchup versus Arkansas State will be affected, as the Hurricanes won't be playing at home, but in regards to this week's practices, travel and the like, again, it's still unclear.

Hurricane Irma, now labeled a Category 5, is expected to make landfall over the weekend, and according to The Washington Post "it’s already the strongest hurricane ever recorded outside the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico."
