On Thursday night the Miami Hurricanes were embarrassed on a national stage by the Wisconsin Badgers. Wisconsin jumped out to an early lead in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl and never looked back en route to a 35-3 win.

It was the second-consecutive bowl win for the Badgers over the Hurricanes after the team knocked off Miami in last year's Orange Bowl.

After the game, Miami fans questioned the job Mark Richt did this year as the team's head coach. Those questions eventually led to a statement from the school's athletic director.

"Our football team's performance tonight - and at other times this season - is simply unacceptable to all of us who love The U. I am committed to getting UM Football back to national prominence and that process is underway. We will compete for ACC and national championships and I know Coach Richt is alongside me in that commitment to excellence," AD Blake James said in a statement.

It's the kind of statement that makes one believe Richt's days at Miami might be numbered if he doesn't turn this thing around in a hurry.

After a hot start to the 2017 season, Miami went 7-9 over the next 16 games. This loss to Wisconsin is just another step in the wrong direction for Miami.
