Miami Basketball: Which Teams Could The Hurricanes Face In The First Round Of The NCAA Tournament?

Miami was in contention for the ACC regular season title up until the final weekend of the season, but ended up finishing as the No.3 seed in the upcoming conference tournament.

The Hurricanes have a double-bye into the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament, where they will face Boston College, Florida State or Virginia Tech depending how the earlier rounds shake out. If Miami wins in the quarters, second-seeded Virginia will likely be waiting for them in the semis. 

But where will the 'Canes be seeded this Sunday when it comes NCAA Tournament time? It’s looking like a 3-seed for the U.

ESPN’s Bracketology:3-seed in the East against UNC Wilmington in Brooklyn

CBS Sports: 3-seed in the Midwest against Iona in Providence

USA Today: 3-seed in the West against Akron in Brooklyn

Likely Seed: The consensus among the analysts is that Miami will be a 3-seed. Unless...

Ceiling: …they reach the ACC Tournament final Then, they are a good bet to move up to a 2-seed. If they win the ACC tourney, a 2-seed is almost a lock.
