The Manny Diaz era at Miami didn't get off to an amazing start. Nonetheless, the program has a chance to improve its record to 2-2 this Saturday when it hosts Central Michigan.
Miami faced Florida and North Carolina to begin the 2019 season. Both games resulted in one-possession losses for the Hurricanes.
Despite starting the season off with back-to-back losses, the Hurricanes bounced back nicely last weekend. They dismantled the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats by a score of 63-0.
Jarren Williams had the best game of his young career in Week 3, completing 19-of-24 pass attempts for 254 passing yards and three touchdowns. His development could dictate how the rest of the season plays out for Miami.
Williams should have an excellent opportunity to build off last weekend's performance when the Hurricanes face the Central Michigan Chippewas.
Here are the details for the Miami-Central Michigan game:
Game Time: 4:00 PM ET
Spread: Miami -29.5
Announcers: Chris Cotter, Mark Herzlich
Central Michigan defeated Albany and Akron this season, but it did suffer a 61-point loss to Wisconsin two weeks ago.
Even though Miami's record isn't very good at the moment, Diaz's defense has looked stout through three games. Expect that trend to continue this weekend against Central Michigan.
Will the Hurricanes take care of business against the Chippewas?
