Miami Lands Commitment From In-State 2016 WR Latrell Williams

Mark Richt's first goal on the recruiting trail as Miami's new head coach is to anchor down and attempt to win back the state of Florida's fertile recruiting ground. This means rebuilding relationships and reputation all over the state.

So when 247 Sports' Ryan Bartow reported that the Hurricanes landed a commitment from 2016 wide receiver Latrell Williams, following his official visit, it meant more than just adding another talented player to the 2016 class - it was a hint at things to come.

Williams, out of Lake City (FL), is rated as a three-star by 247 Sports and is crystal balled to Virginia Tech at 100-percent. This means Miami made an impression, seemingly steering Williams away from every indication he has given recruiting analysts that he'd end up in Blacksburg.

It will be interesting to see how Miami evolves on the recruiting trail under Richt, but this is already a good sign for Hurricanes fans.
