Miami True Freshman WR Sam Bruce Out Indefinitely With Non-Football Injury

Miami true freshman Sam Bruce is out indefinitely.

Sam Bruce, a four-star recruit in the 2016 class, has suffered a non-football related leg injury, according to Miami.

The Florida native is suspended for the Hurricanes' first three games of the season, but Mark Richt expected Bruce to make an impact upon his return. His return might not be coming any time soon, though.

The Sun-Sentinel reports that Bruce may have a broken leg.

The school announced Friday morning Bruce would be out indefinitely after suffering a lower extremity injury and that he is being evaluated by team doctors. A source told the Sun Sentinel Bruce has a broken leg, an injury that can take weeks to heal, depending on the fracture.

Bruce -- one of the jewels in Miami's signing class this past February -- is no stranger to leg fractures, having broken both his tibia and fibula while in high school at St. Thomas.

Miami is set to play FAU on Saturday at 6 p.m. E.T.
