Earlier this week, Miami quarterback Tate Martell got some tough news. Head coach Manny Diaz revealed the team's starting quarterback for the upcoming game against Florida.
Jarren Williams will get the rock for the Hurricanes to open the season.
Immediately after the decision, some wondered if Martell would take his talents elsewhere. After transferring from Ohio State to Miami, would he leave the Hurricanes if he doesn't get the starting job?
For now, it looks like he's sticking with the Hurricanes. The former high school star quarterback even worked out at wide receiver for Miami this week.
Though he reportedly missed practice on Monday, he seems content with playing for Manny Diaz this season.
The former four-star recruit has received support on social media from his girlfriend, Kiki Passo.
"With me through it all," she said on the post.
Passo posted a message for Martell on Instagram shortly after the starting quarterback news was announced. "To the strongest and most amazing person I've ever met, I love you to the moon," she wrote. Martell and Passo have been publicly dating since earlier this summer. The Instagram model has nearly 1 million (867,000 to be exact) followers
