Former NC State Star, NBA Player Charles Shackleford Found Dead In North Carolina

According to multiple reports, former NBA player Charles Shackleford was found dead on Friday.

Charles Shackleford, who starred at NC State from 1985 to 1988 and later played for the New Jersey Nets, the Philadelphia 76ers, the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Charlotte Hornets, was found dead in his hometown of Kinston, North Carolina on Friday. TMZ is reporting that details surrounding Shackleford's death are "unclear" at this moment.

Shackleford last played in the NBA during the 1998-1999 season. He was 50 years old at the time of his death.

Shackleford, who stood at 6-foot-10, was drafted 32nd overall by the Nets in 1988. He scored 1,625 points and pulled down 1,448 rebounds during his NBA career.

In 2010, Shackleford was arrested for selling drugs to an undercover police officer.
