ESPN Tabs N.C. State As This Year's College Football Playoff 'Spoiler'

N.C. State is receiving a lot of love going into the season.

It's finally August, and we're in the home stretch. College football will actually be played this month, so get excited!

You should be excited, especially if you're an N.C State fan, because ESPN's Adam Rittenberg showed the Wolfpack some serious love this morning. He referred to N.C. State as this season's "playoff spoiler."

Check it out:

The ACC is swelling with pride after two national championships in four years. The league's top contenders, Florida State and Clemson, once again figure to compete for the title. But NC State could mess it all up. The Wolfpack outplayed both Clemson and Florida State last year, only to find ways to lose at the end. NC State will have its best team under Dave Doeren, headlined by a ferocious defensive front. There's urgency here as Doeren likely needs to match or exceed last year's win total to ensure his safety. Watch out for the Pack.

For what it's worth, we here at The Spun also have N.C. State as one of the most underrated teams heading into the season.

So hopefully, this is the season N.C. State finally gets over the hump. All of the pieces are there for the Wolfpack to do so.
