NC State running back Dakwa Nichols suffered a very bad looking leg injury late in the first quarter against Syracuse.
On his first carry of the game, Nichols bumped a run to the outside, and was brought down awkwardly on a facemask by linebacker Parris Bennett.
He went to the ground in a heap, and remained down for a long time, before being put in a large air cast and carted off, which is never a good sign for a leg injury.
To make matters worse, Nichols has already played in four games this year, which more or less guarantees that his eligibility is expired, should this injury be as bad as it looked.
Our thoughts go out to Nichols. Hopefully this was precautionary, and the injury isn't as bad as it appears.
