NC State G Dennis Smith Jr. Officially Declares For NBA Draft

No surprise here: NC State freshman point guard Dennis Smith Jr. is headed to the NBA Draft.

Smith Jr., one of several talented point guards coming out this year and a projected lottery pick, made his announcement live on SportsCenter on ESPN2.

Smith Jr. was a five-star prospect and one of the top point guards in the 2016 recruiting class. In his lone season with the Wolfpack, he averaged 18.1 points, 6.2 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game.

Smith Jr. also recorded a pair of triple-doubles, going for 27 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists in a 104-78 win over Virginia Tech on Jan. 4 and 13 points, 11 rebounds and 15 assists in a 100-93 overtime loss to Syracuse on Feb. 1.

Additionally, he produced a line of 32 points, four rebounds and six assists in NC State's first win at Duke in 22 years.
