Report: NC State F Omer Yurtseven Is Returning To School
New NC State head coach Kevin Keatts is getting a major piece back for next season.
Turkish big man Omer Yurtseven is withdrawing from the NBA Draft and coming back to NC State for 2017-18, according to ESPN's Jeff Goodman.
Yurtseven was projected to either be a second-round pick or go undrafted.
In his first season with the Wolfpack, Yurtseven averaged 5.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 18.9 minutes per game.
He will be a focal point of NC State's rebuilding under Keatts, along with Abdul-Malik Abu and Torin Dorn. The Wolfpack are losing Dennis Smith Jr., Ted Kapita and Maverick Rowan early as the trio pursues professional careers.
Additionally, Terry Henderson, the team's second-leading scorer last year, has graduated. However, NC State does welcome Lennard Freeman back from injury and added Baylor graduate transfer Al Freeman, who is immediately eligible.
