We had a major upset in the college basketball world this evening, with the No. 7 team in the country falling on the road.

Auburn, ranked No. 7 in the country, lost to unranked N.C. State in Raleigh, North Carolina this evening.

The Wolfpack led for the majority of the game, taking an eight-point lead into halftime and holding on in the final minutes.

N.C. State ultimately pulled out a 78-71 victory for the Wolfpack's biggest win of the season.

ESPN's Jeff Borzello is impressed: "Had NC State in my preseason top 25, but the Wolfpack hadn’t exactly done anything so far against tourney-caliber competition. It wasn’t pretty tonight, but beating Auburn is still a statement. Markell Johnson was terrific, and Kevin Keatts has a deep and versatile perimeter," he tweeted.

NC State improved to 10-1 on the season with tonight's win, while Auburn fell to 9-2.
