Once the national championship was over between Clemson and Alabama, the college football season officially moved on to the 2019 season.
With this past season now in the rearview mirror, the odds for the 2019 Heisman Trophy have emerged. It shouldn’t surprise many that the top three candidates all play the quarterback position.
Trevor Lawrence currently has the best odds to win the prestigious award, and that makes tons of sense after watching him decimate Notre Dame and Alabama in back-to-back playoff games.
Right behind the freshman gunslinger is Tua Tagovailoa, who almost won the Heisman Trophy this past year. After the Crimson Tide superstar is Jake Fromm of the Georgia Bulldogs.
Although quarterbacks dominated the entire list of candidates, Jonathan Taylor and Travis Etienne received strong odds.
The Heisman Trophy has been won by a quarterback over the past three years. However, Derrick Henry did win the hardware back in the 2015 season.
