Four-star 2017 linebacker Chandler Wooten out of Kennesaw, Ga. has over a year before his National Signing Day, but he says that he is already pretty sure about his choice, and will make a decision in January. SEC Country spoke to Wooten, who broke down his four finalists.
Tennessee: “The coaches are dedicated to what they do and they’re on the come up. The program is going to be very successful in the coming years.”
Clemson: “I just fell in love with the place ever since I stepped on the campus my freshman year. Ever since I was 14 years old, (defensive coordinator Brent Venables) has always stayed in contact with me. When they offered last year, I went to a couple games and toured the campus in the summer. I just fell in love with the place.”
Auburn: “As far as defense, they need players to step in early. I think I can go in there and play pretty soon.”
North Carolina: “(Defensive line coach Tray Scott) has been recruiting me very hard. Their program is also on the rise, and I can see myself playing there.”
The Clemson Tigers look to be in good position based on his responses, and his Twitter feed is full of orange and purple.
As for other potential schools, Wooten tells SEC Country that "if they really wanted (him) they would’ve offered." Fair enough.
