Today certainly has been a good day to be a Tar Heel. North Carolina has now landed its second elite guard in the last 12 hours.
Fairfax (Va.) Paul VI Catholic four-star combo guard Anthony Harris announced his commitment moments ago. He joins five-star point guard Cole Anthony, who committed to the Tar Heels on ESPN this morning.
Harris originally committed to Virginia Tech in October and signed in November. However, when Hokies head coach Buzz Williams left to take the job at Texas A&M, Harris reopened his recruitment.
The 6-foot-3, 180-pound prospect took an official visit to UNC yesterday before pledging to the Heels this evening.

Harris missed a large portion of his senior season after tearing his ACL in early December. He is the No. 4 player in Virginia, as well as the No. 8 combo guard and No. 65 overall player in the 2019 class, per 247Sports’ Composite Rankings.
Today’s pair of commitments have boosted North Carolina’s 2019 recruiting haul up to No. 6 in the composite team rankings. Harris joins Anthony, five-star big man Armando Bacot and three-star point guard Jeremiah Francis.
Anthony, Harris and Francis will join veterans Brandon Robinson, Seventh Woods and Andrew Platek in the UNC backcourt next season.
